crikey, its been one quarter of the year already, and what have you done? oh thats right 13 sexy bits of music. Congrats!

I just launched a rather silly badge/card/music club thing called Alone's Retro E-Waste Lifestyle Club

Basically each track I've been making gets artwork, artwork gets made into badges/cards and other things, people who buy badges get CDs of music (and badges) and everyone is happy (profits etc go to make more badges and also help fund my live shows/mastering etc. Like kickstarter/patreon, but more... badges..

its okay to have good weeks and bad. I know further down the line that I'll have weeks where I've got tons of other stuff to do (eg holidays!) or that not every track will be exactly what I want (there have already been a couple where I'm like "WHY?"), but the important thing is to stay on the ride. This has already been overwhelmingly positive.

I've been well into hip-hop lately. The Lushlife lp that just came out reminds me of when I was young(er) and loved Big Dada/Ninja tune (I still do tbh).
Also a new Killswitch Engage album just snuck out and I'm well into earnest fist pumping metal-core-whatevers.
Finally still on a Bowie kick, Station to Station is currently my jam.

sooooo heading into the last week of Feb.. anyone up for another theme?
Here's my suggestions:
Friendship
The early 90's
Having too many ideas in the shower
Digital
Helvetica
Quiet times.

mmm delaysssss...

I've been releasing my tracks to SoundCloud a few days after they go up here and have been trying to do an original artwork/image for each one, I'm thinking if I can keep it up, I'd like to do a little compilation of tracks and images maybe a few months in then towards the end? Dunno, im just pleased to be making tracks again mostly! You can see em all so far on www.alone-music.co.uk

I'm eagerly awaiting the new album from Black Peaks and I got very excited to hear there is a new The Field LP on the way... and Deftones.. and maybe even Nine Inch Nails... Its a good time to be me.

Currently on rotation I have lots of Bowie (for Bowie reasons, plus its ace, particularly Heroes, Lodger and Earthling) and have also been spinning the new album by The Black Queen, which is synth pop with Josh Eustis producing and Greg from Dillenger Escape Plan on vox. Its yummy.

That darn space theme! It's not spacey if its not over 6 minutes...
