This week I started by setting up an empty template file with some eqs, effects, and other things i like already built in so that i wouldn't have to do it from scratch each time. I put a fair amount of effort into this only to have it fall apart when i started slicing loops to samples since ableton makes new tracks for those and all of a sudden my claps weren't on the right channel, for example.

It is not the worst thing in the world to have to move racks and clips around to get the channels back in order, but a "slice in place" feature would be pretty sweet. My goal for next week is to figure out a better solution to this issue of not having to start from a blank slate each week.

The mix also came out pretty hot. I compressed it too much and also forgot to carve out my EQ for the kick and bass properly. Live and learn.
