The Dead Hand of the Past

Glad to bring a first submission here! This is a track with poetry about embracing the present moment and creating new possibilities rather than being bound by past traditions and expectations.
The past, a dead hand weighing heavy,
History's chains that bind us steady.
Childhood summers stretched like lifetimes,
Now the future's predetermined signs.
Artists trapped by their own creations,
Radicals bound by old foundations.
Time compressed to this one moment,
Space condensed to where we've meant to
Throw ourselves into the unknown,
Rip ourselves from history's throne.
Not more past we need, but myth and tale,
Where present possibilities prevail.
Let the world unravel if it must,
From history's circular dust.
Seize this moment, make it yours,
Before the past claims all its doors.
