this is part of a new set of compositions involving tape
I have a cassette recorded on a 4 track, which behaves differently in portable stereo players
I have been taking my cassette player with me and recording it playing in different spaces
the speed range on my portable player is incredibly high, which reveals all sorts of microsound in the recording
which was layered at many different speeds in the first (norns) and second (portastudio) places
speed control over the recording means each time I play it in a space, i'm playing a slightly different version than has been played before
I see these recordings something like performances, and I'm still working on how they'll fit together.
this recording came from Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland
