takes smore

This weeks track represents an attempt to meet Drum Bender's creative constraint of "Stops and Starts"

I am not fond of it, but am happy that I figured out how to EQ-out a hum from the synth tracks (that was probably in there because I was using the interface wrong)

Well that was a very enjoyable turn of events!  big_smile

Whoa, the 2nd half totally caught me off guard.  What a wild ride, very well done.

This slaps, then backhands!

How did you make this

I love the mysterious arp and vocal in the first section. I get lost after that...i wanted more mystery instead of intensity.

Vocals are very cool, I really like those synths textures. Well played.

Oh wow that is interesting and original. A haunting relative peaceful first phase and then it goes near industrial experimental. That was cool.

Wait what??????  I thought my internet connection dropped out that was so shocking!  well played!!

it was like enjoying a nice picnic near a peaceful stream and then basically it turned into silent hill and pyramid head came up and ripped my soul out of my body.

your screaming sounds SO good i'm not even joking, I love this kind of noise with the soul that was recently stolen by pyramid head

Thanks all! I'm kind of with botanicus, I think I would have preferred a more fully realized song in the first style. I mostly have time on Sundays to work on these so they end up being less song-y than I would like, but maybe I'll improve.
gesceap, I recorded the synth parts from my Novation Ultranova, the percussion was the damper pedal on an upright piano recorded on my laptop mic, the crackly sound was drum bender manhandling a candy bar, the loud bits were an oddly tuned guitar recorded through a Space Echo and RML Electron Fuzz distortion pedals borrowed from drum bender. I'm a bit worried that I used the wrong power supply on the distortion pedal. Has anyone here ever broken a pedal by using the wrong power supply?

@gesceap Oops also a borrowed POG octave pedal on the guitar. So many good pedals out there! hit up drum bender if you want rec's!

Holy moly. Really dig the second half, and that it comes after the first half. Wonderfully crushing and doomy.

(I don't like that when you sleep on stuff, sometimes comments up top spoil the surprise).

Can we revisit your first week's doubts about your creativity this year yet? smile
