Yowch! I had to record this one on my laptop microphone
And was reminded of how lucky I am to have the Library Of MusicLandria from which I on so many other occasions have borrowed an audio interface
Viva La MusicLandria
Below are the very sappy lyrics because they are kind of hard to hear and I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea about Leonard Cohen, whom I love.

Leonard Cohen wrote a poem
which could not yet compare
to your smile and your eyes
and the soul living there

It's my favorite poem
and I know it by heart
but when I write to you
I cannot even start

Hey Leonard Cohen help me write a Good Poem
and I'll give it to him and he'll love me again
Give it some wings and a bright golden tongue
and I'll give it to him and our work will be done, Leonard

Leonard Cohen wrote a poem
which could not yet compare
to your mind and your heart
and the songs that live there

This is a very well written song.  The chorus chord progression is wild but it totally works.  I think the piano riff adds a lot of character to the progression.

"Give it some wings and a bright golden tongue and I'll give it to him and our work will be done" heart

I'm going to need to listen to everything you have on this, this is a great song.

Nice composition and lyrics! Great that you included them, makes it easier to follow along as it's quite hard to understand the voice alone. It's really nice, I can totally imagine someone making a cover of it with a band or just on guitar in a crummy bar somewhere big_smile

Not sure who this character is, but the lyrics certainly are sweet.

Thanks! It's basically that episode of Star Trek where Spock gets drunk and accepts Buddha as his savior

Ah, haven't seen much of TNG either.

The recording done on the laptop microphone actually adds character to this track. As if, walking down a street at night, we were eavesdropping on someone playing a song on their piano. The piano sounds gorgeous with that too, having a lot of body.

wow, every single chord/arpeggio hits me SO hard.  instant favorite.

also love LC, my sister-in-law is an epic fan and she took my husband to see him perform back in 2012 or so
