I had a weird notion to try do something using as much base synth tones and percussion as possible, which gives this a bit of a tracker/SID sorta vibe

That slow sweep of white noise in the background is a nice touch.  Heavy heavy and dark.

This is like the soundtrack for a 8 bit slasher movie. The bass like pattern is threatening!
