Theme for a Nonexistent Crime Plot

By fc on January 15, 2012 5:25 am

This is another composition using the Nodal software, this time using a triggering score in Logic (and Logic instruments) to control the occurance of gestures. For variation, each of the three networks has a randomly decided course, or variation on course, which occur at different points within each network.
Screenshot for anyone interested in seeing the network.
Here is a video of a performance of the piece.  Not the same performance as is heard in this submission, due to the variation in network.

Man... this is some impressive stuff with nodal. Really diggin it.

Thanks dude! Nodal is really quite cool.

haha cool concept.. needs some samples of columbo ;>

Cheers. Who's Columbo?

Ahhh man.  This is sweet.  I've added Nodal on my list of to play with (later in the year though!)

Have you thought about doing a screencap of doing something like this and sending it to the Nodal peeps? This is amazing stuff that you've done with the software, I'm sure they'd love to see it

cTrix: thanks very much. Have fun with Nodal!

Tiasu: I might do a video for youtube of this piece, and add it to the description or something. Along with sending it to Peter/CEMA! Thanks for the compliment/suggestion!

Here is a video of a "performance" of the piece.

Really dig your Nodal stuff. It's making me want to break out Noatikl and do something similar.

Thanks man. Noatikl looks really cool, I was looking up Nodal videos on youtube and found one that demonstrated (briefly) both, I'd not heard of Noatikl previously but will probably explore it a bit later in the year.

Nodal looks really cool! will check it out, after I work my way around MSP...eventually
Nice work sir

Thanks a lot, Iran Sanad! I hope you enjoy Nodal; it's probably a bit (lot) easier to get your head around compared to Max, but obviously nowhere near as powerful. I'll definitely do a video for this week's piece too. This time I'll show a bit more of the data in each node. Thanks for the comment! smile

nice! I really like it.

Thanks very much!
