This inspired my weeklybeat this week. I began the early sound design last week, but everything else was done this week. Done in Ableton Live. All sounds derived/manipulated from this recording: https://archive.org/details/FirstSounds … nautogram_ (there's the attribution)

Woah, very cool concept.

Cool manipulation from the recording. Certainly does not sound like a bee in a jar anymore wink

Is that 'kickdrum' a live recorded sound, or is it actually a kickdrum from a sample pack? I like how 'closed in' it sounds

]I built the "kick drum" from the sample in the link. Like all the other sounds. Everything is built from the Clair De Lune recording - the oldest known human voice recording.

Cheers. It certainly does not, though the part that is the actual recording does.

This is great, it reminds me of many disquiet assignments. These restrictions always lead you in a place you'd never go to before but for me I usually am not totally happy with the results, but I think I learn a bit every time I do it. Anyway, yours sounds great.

Very inspirational.

great concept, AND great execution of said concept.

What are disquiet assignments? Thanks for the compliment. I really like minimal material work.

Thanks so much.

Excellent work.  The sound design is very cool and well constructed as a piece.  Very enjoyable!

Wow, thanks. That's a lovely comment!

http://disquiet.com/2012/01/27/the-disquiet-junto/ Here's an explanation. The projects come explained in an email list weekly. Instead of a week you only have thursday through monday for this project.
I haven't been doing so many since I started weekly beats but they're definitely good for inspiration and to get you to do something you've never done before.

I feel a little scared after hearing your sounds, very nice work, looking forward to hearing more.

Ooh, scared! That's a new one. Thanks very much. Using more sounds generated from that same sample this week!

Excellent, thanks! I think I'm too busy at the moment to do that properly, but will definitely look into it down the track.

fuck yeah. I'm always super inspired by one-sample productions like this. very great design and compositional work here!

I thought I'd recognized "Au clair de la lune". This is quite the remix of it actually!

Cheers. Yeah, the first time I came across one-sample work I was really inspired too.

Thanks muchly! It's a pretty interesting tune, melodically. I hadn't really paid any attention to it before.

Ooh very nice...love how limitations can lead to unusual textures like this - great work!

Love the sample - and what you did with it!!!
