Hamlet's Nightmare Part 2

By fc on September 9, 2012 2:48 pm

I haven't had time this week for WB, but I have been creating a decent amount of music. This piece comes from a score I'm co-writing for a theatre production here in Melbourne, rehearsals are on at the moment. This was also the weekend of doom!

Very busy.

Enjoy.

Feat. Dario Ogrin on saxophone, though it's fairly heavily manipulated.

Very cool to get to hear a score you are working on.  Different than a typical track.  This has some creepy stuff going on. Definitely tells a story of which something bad is afoot.

Dat chromaticism. Great track - very creepy.

This track is great.  The sax is very eerie and twisted within the track.  Well done.

This is crazy. Great manipulations there, would love to see the process sometime

yea it is very eerie. it's amazing how much the heartbeat adds to it too. great stuff man.

spooky stuff indeed.

Thanks, everyone. You're way too kind!
This piece is part two of a backdrop for the Hamlet character having a nightmare and "staring into the abyss" in a moment of "existential angst"; I considered gradually speeding the heartbeat up, but that's just too kitsch.

I like how it moves in the stereo field
