cruel integers

FM Mk2, old tape-manipulation patch. Hybridised. A bit dodgy. Needs work.

Words by Matt Hawkins:

Men count their lives like hands
In the blind watches of the night,
The darkened room, the cigarette,
The purple curtain, the lamp’s corona,
Nicotine-dyed fingernails, forgotten heraldry,
Fate in numbers.
Existence is arithmetic: equations, cruel integers,
Pre-ordained solutions.
What do they count but their own slow unravelling?
Calories perhaps, the years of their bondage,
Slowly circling death’s drainhole.

Spoken by me.

Powerfully inventive! Like swords clashing; tape-speed manipulation works perfectly.

On another topic, how went it with the Saxophone Duo?

Thanks so much. Yes, I thought the combination would be pretty good. Adding this one (or a variant of) to my repertoire of stuff to perform live.

The duet went pretty swell, I've not yet heard a recording. If I get a good one, would you like to tickle your cochlear with it?
