Agitation: Miniature

A different work compared to my submissions thus far.
This short work (goes for about 45 seconds, sorry, bucking the minute trend because one minute is fairly arbitrary - see Webern) is part of a collection of short works ranging from about 30 seconds to a minute and a half, for different combinations of the trio of flute, clarinet and piano.
This recording was done with just a Zoom H4N, the musicians are: Alice Bennett (flute) & Rosa Hwang (piano), and I am very thankful they were both so enthusiastic about playing the piece! Recording was done by Alice and then I mixed/mastered it. Technically I started writing the piece late on Sunday evening and finished the first draft for a rehearsal on Monday evening, completed the piece today (the 24th).

Somewhat dodgy mix/reverb/etc.

I quite like this one--the structure comes across, and it feels like a combination of Webern and Cage.  Excellent work.

Webern's brevity, Cage's sound palette. Thanks. smile

YES

wow, fantastic work, I love the miniature "format", I really like the sound palette you used ans the integration of both instruments

excellent

It definitely had an impro vibe to it even though it was scored.  Refreshing.

Joaquin: thanks! Yeah, I really enjoy brevity.

Terminal Man: ta.

rdomain: I reckon flexing tempo and time like that is what generates the improv feel.

Nice.  Feel like I need an accompanying movie to go along with it.
