Swapping workflows again.  Trying to take advantage of the MPC for better percussion, but something about this setup really kills my flow.

I like the chords that come in a few seconds before the minute mark. I find the MPC either inspires or kills creative interests depending on the model and person. I tend to gravitate towards manually sequencing my parts myself so the MPC has always been an uphill battle to me. Are you using a newer MPC or older one?

A newer one:  I got an MPC One+ last winter, and have slowly been easing my way into it.

I tend to get hung up trying to use it with my modular stuff.  I waffle between wanting to keep sequences "live" in the CV / MIDI tracks so I can noodle with knobs while it plays and wanting to freeze 4 bar loops into audio clips so I can build up a clip library and make a song that way.  And do I want to try to sequence everything on the MPC and master there, or just send all the clips to my DAW to build the song there?

It's the indecision of which approaches to take that stymie me.

I know that struggle well. It takes can take a while to work out what works for your workflow needs. Keep at it, I am sure you find something that feels right eventually.
