Dead Guys

Hi guys,

I initially started this week thinking I was going to do a gimmick of taking 3 old and unfinished projects and combining them to make a silly 3 movement song. Once I got to this song, it clicked right into place and I just wanted it to be its own solid song not tied to some silly idea.

But, this one is kinda silly. I had a lot of fun getting out my Ableton Move again to time stretch different samples of my friends. The main flute-y sound is a recording from one of my old classical tunes sliced up. I have a big folder of recordings from old classical songs I wrote and I throw them into literally every track I submit.

Lots of surprising sound layers throughout this track. I dialed down some of the “bad” sounding elements with EQ, so they are less abrasive. I wanted to keep the spice, but definitely a bit of taming it down makes it sound more blended.

Hope you enjoy!

This is super playful and fun!!! The vocal-like "ooohhh"s are making me smile really hard, hahaha...

Cool timestretch effects on the vocals. A lot more chill than your normal tracks, which is a surprise. Good work.

This was a nice surprise compared to some of your previous work - this almost feels like a great halfway-through-the-album-interlude type of sound smile

Lol this is super fun. The break beat kinda finishes it perfectly, but I love how the vocal elements sometimes shift into rap and sometimes shift into sounds my 1 year old nephew makes lol

The vocals/singing at 1:32 hits just right! Interesting track.
