Mo’ Money Throwdown

By evanericksonmusic on February 22, 2026 11:31 pm

I’ve become really set on my next album being a culmination of samples entirely sourced from my friends. My weird chronic issues really flare when I talk with people, so I can go a long time without socializing. This idea of stealing my friend’s voices to make music with has been cathartic for me. In its own weird way, it feels like I’m still getting to hang out with each of them as I write.

When I first got to college, I was in an Intro to Music Industry class. We all had to assign nicknames to ourselves. Mo’ Money was the name of the guy who provided me this rap sample after I asked him for some stuff. We don’t have a deep history, but we each respect each other a lot.

Anyways, I made this ass shaker out of Mo’ Money’s voice.

this is cool

I've noticed you sample lots of people around you, but never considered that part of it—I really love that. This is a ton of fun, and I'm glad that iPad workflow is working out for you heart!

I'm constantly thinking of ways to find interesting vocal samples. I can believe I never considered just asking people in my life to just record themselves for me.

Really fun track this week. Super chaotic and dense.
