another low and slow bass-y hip-hop-y track. went to an interdisciplinary symposium on the humanities and sciences this weekend and had a long flight back. made this all in Ableton Note on my iPad in order to learn that app better and see what's possible and what's constrained. i thought about trying to link it to Ableton Live to port it over and try to extend it, but then decided (partly due to time limit issues once i landed!) to just do it all in Note, all constraints included. pretty happy with it overall, and it was cool to see how Note aims to get you in the flow faster -- it auto-picks instruments each new layer you add to just get started, and each set starts with 3-4 instruments, usually including a drum kit to get going. was also nice to use my hands and fingers beyond keyboard and mouse, and the screen pads and knobs (though physical ones are more fun!)

Aww hell yea! I hear that bass heart. That first drop hits you like a wall of bricks smile

Oooh, that yummy sample/synth at 1:18 was just the delicious treat I needed before getting beamed to space at 1:48.

How was Note? Fun enough that you'll keep dabbling? I fiddled with Cubasis a bit on my phone this past week but the real estate felt tiny on a phone; I tablet seems maybe a bit more fun with these mobile DAWs when you have no hardware(?)

Cool stuff! I’ve done quite a few tracks on an iPad while on planes. It can be a challenge, but a fun way to pass the time.
