Inspired by the everlasting influence of Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, and 10cc.

Playing live drums with synthesizers is so difficult. Thanks again to the folks who helped me learn to tweak EQ and limiters last week. Helped big time with the drums. I didn't want them in your face, but I was able to get the kick at a good spot without clipping.

Thanks for listening. I think I'll go hip-hop again next week or something.

Cool! I liked the sound you got from the drums, not overpowering and maybe like you used a really unfussy micing technique smile Check out some of Drum Bender's tracks if you haven't already, they've been doing a lot of live synth + hybrid drumming + singing to boot, the level of musical multitasking is very inspiring

Unfussy is very polite 🫠 It was two mics. One condenser on the kick, and a dynamic on the snare. I find it so crazy to watch some of these drummers with their consistency. Synths give me a chance to jam with myself. Create new beats, etc. Thank you for listening.

Interesting track, sounds like some new elements for you. Definitely think this could be explored further good ideas here

Appreciate this. You are certainly correct! This was one of my first shots at recording drums live. 1. I found out why drummers wear sweatbands under headphones, and 2 - I still had to correct some hits in DAW afterwards, even on my best take.

Micing and EQ will have more thought next time, but the drums I felt like were ok taking back seat to the bass a little here. Or maybe I just tell myself that 🫠
