W16 - Nothing But Lux

Earlier this week I talked to Ess from Fors.FM about an instrument they developed called Lux over discord. Lux is a simple max instrument that uses stacked sine oscillators to generate unique tones. It's a fantastic and simple additive synthesis tool that comes as part of the experimental package they offer. I have owned it for a while but hadn't really sat down to dive in deep (honestly I forgot I picked it up as I haven't been using my laptop for full music production lately).
I did this song sketch to try and feel out what I could do with Lux. Every sound is generated using this well-designed little tool with some effects and mixing. Great stuff. I think I found a new go-to software synth to tinker with in the future. I especially enjoyed using it with Ableton's LFO to randomize different parameters for a hyper-glitchy effect.
Gear Used:
Ableton
Fors.fm Lux (All sounds)
Fors.fm Hue (Rhythmic filtering effecting on Lux Glitches)
Fors.fm Ego (Spatial effect used at the end of intro)
Valhalla Vintage Verb (Reverb on everything)
Tal Chorus-LX (Lazy stereo on chords and glitch percussion)
Sound Toys Radiator (Warm up kick)
Sound Toys little Micro Shift (lazy stereo effect on glitch arp)
Aberrant DSP Digitalis (glitch effect at end of intro)
Izotope Vinyl (master warble and record stop effect at end of intro)
Izotope Elements 9 (lazy mastering)
