W08 - Spider

I tuned the Alpha Juno VST tests from last week into a more fleshed out song with the help of my favorite tracker. I really do miss the unique sound of that synth. It's simple but had some tricks you can't find anywhere else. I worked off of the spindly plucks conjured when tinkering. Composition process was very unfocused. The sound experiments didn't necessarily inform the structure of the song as well. It was a bit chaotic but tried to embrace it. Matched mental space.
Week felt short. Confronted some partership struggles. First time felt truly hurt and fell into bad petty reactions. shut down communications. Tired of initiation repair. Partner reached out (tension relief) and has been resolved but concerned council. Spent rest of the week more aligned but still far from capitalist functional. Thought about teaching again. Had a 30% week. Low. Looked at venues. discussed about a trip.
Discovered tx81z is still not retaining patches. retains for a few hours and even functions after power down. After a few hours it dies again. needs more investigation and possibley another solder repair job. Last week's patches lost.

Created loops in Ableton using Alpha Juno VST as starting point. Recorded directly from laptop headphone jack to M8. Composed and layered in M8. Rendered down to track stems. Mixed and mastered in Ableton (minor adjustments and coloring). Aimed for old laptop characteristics. Workstation jumping approach. -10 to 9 LUFS new mixing target.
