Space Fighter Gun

The first weeks of this years weekly beats, I was playing at MAGFest with my friends and dealing with a brutal case of the flu. I am finally feeling up to working on some tunes....

Unfortunately I am also away from my studio right now and had to improvise some sound gear to complete this week's song.

While out and about in a toy store I found a cheap toy gun that lights up and (more importantly) makes some old school sounds seemingly from an 8-bit sound chip. I thought it was a perfect opportunity to improvise with some synthesis and challenge myself to make an entire song based off of the sampled sound of the toy gun.

Whipped this up over about 5 hour period. I have included the sample used at the end of the song for your listening pleasure (or otherwise ).
