korg m01d test

By ENC_ on May 10, 2014 10:32 pm

I ended up buying korg m01d this week for the 3DS. when the original recreation of the m1 workstation came out of japan i found myself largely unimpressed. it just seemed like a rompler with a clunky and limited interface like the korg ds-10. the actual workstation/synthesizer was never something that had appealed to me in the first place. with the ds-10 you could at least make your own sounds but this really wasn't the case with the m1 version. What won me over with the 3ds version is the midi export and what that meant for on the fly composition. I also noticed it was easy to make those 90's RnB sexy sounds with (which i like a lot).

I made this track in korg m01d just to give it a quick try. I recorded the results and added some extra layers along side. I have been dealing with moving into a new place, a new job, and lots and lots of paperwork this week. with all the stress delevierd from this week i am just glad to say that my newest purchase has pleasantly surprised me. It might be the best thing that happened to me all week.

Used:
3ds running korg m01d
xm samples (drones)
yamaha mr-10 (drums)
boss dr110 (drums)
