DEAD GB

I write the music that I do largely because my obsessions with synths and technology. In my early days I couldn't afford real synths or software to make the music that I wanted to make. At the time the most I could muster was some of my piss poor guitar playing on to a cassette 4-track machine with radio shack microphones. Sometimes I would get a little crazy and would even use that sweet keyboard I got at a thrift shop! I started making chiptune as a means to get closer to where I wanted to be at the time.
This time around I decided to go back to my roots and try that out again. This is 100% written and generated with a game boy with LSDJ and processed with ableton to add a little flare. I was shooting for the sound I may have been writing back in 2008/2009. At that time it was just me, a gameboy, a digital delay, a tweekalizer (for some eq and dj effects) and a crappy 80's Realistic brand dj mixer (originally sold at radio shack) that i picked up at good will.
I enjoyed this little throw back. SOOO Glad I am not as limited to working like this anymore. It has been a humbling reminder of my roots.

The delay on that melody is so good! It just kinda floats!

You obviously spent some quality time on refined EQ and filtering applied to this,
Making this tracks characteristics outstanding !
