Thank you - it was just the little midi keyboard using garage band sounds - there are some weird buttons on the keyboard that i have yet to figure out what they are called & do but they made the sound bigger & grumbly - i messed with taking them up then down...  & the dystopian theme was where my head was because of some conversations & podcasts i had been listening to - i think sometimes spring with the wreckage of winter also evokes a dystopian state - at least it does for a gardener... i feel like i've been working on the wreckage for weeks now smile
