Was contemplating the whole week and eventually reached a decision. Started with this track in the thinking phase, which makes up the first half of the track, then slowly embracing one option in the second half. The bass line is the only recognizable part pervading the whole track.

The bass patch itself sounds horrible, but behind the pads and chord stabs it's kinda decent. I like the subtly changed bass line towards the end. I omitted additional drums and key changes, because that was making it only worse. Somehow I ended up with a boring part and a simplistic part. Not satisfied with the result, but it is what it is.

interesting stuff going on rhythmically here in the second half. curious about your process of the thinking phase and how you conceptualize the track. do you spend a lot of time thinking what to do and then having a focused time set aside for execution or how does it work?  anyway, I know how it feels when it doesn't quite turn out the way I hoped but since i don't know your plan, it sounds like success to me!
