This week I decided to try and mix the workflows a bit. Wrote the first idea and the arp and pad sound in ableton and then throughout the week tried writing additional material on the M8 in work. Mainly bass sounds but I accidentally added a chord sound and lead.

Then, I recorded all the parts into ableton and got to arranging, the basic idea being 2 different drum lines (one quicker, one slower) using different sounds, along with then alternating basslines over each of these drumbeats throughout the song.

I like where it ended up but it ended up being one of the latest uploads of the year so far.

Enjoy.

That's a really great drum groove. I love how it's being swallowed up by the bass and synth parts. Great thick fuzzy sound.

Warm and rumbly at the start. Nice use of ducking on the chord changes and you really make those two drumbeats work well together.

This is nice.
Old skool prodigy vibes. Love hearing a bit of rave influence.

What's your approach when you bring something from Ableton back into the M8?
Do you break it into stems?
Do you break it into song sections? Loops?
It's something I've thought about doing but haven't been able to decide on an approach.

intro sounded great. love where it's going. those multiple grooves work so well together. those synths so frantic. oh yea the drop!!!

Damn this thick! Especially liking the section starting at 1:49 and how it just gets nasty! Awesome work dude
