Ranged

By eleventhstage on October 2, 2022 7:04 pm

Another of my drum n bass like, bassy nonsense written on the M8 again this week.

Felt a bit samey at certain points but I like the arp I made as part of it and felt it would work as a track to mix into and out of if I ever make that liveset I've mentioned.

Also, had plans to run this through the Octatrack and add other synths to it but that didn't materialise. I did rearrange the "studio" a bit so that might be possible in the future. Still got some connections to make which is a pain, but life beckoned.

Anyway, enjoy

Lovely crunch + buzz-filled sound design.   I wish I could hear a bit more of the lead the briefly peeks out of the fog at 01:42.  I can see it working as a blends-with-most-things interstitial track during a liveset.  Would your liveset involve a second M8?

I have yet to make a WB using the M8 to drive external synths, too.  hmm  It's just a few connections―but it feels like an order of magnitude more time and trouble, and we're getting all these great sounds out of the box itself.

The plan would be to have another M8 (beta one i was lucky enough to get) running into an octatrack for manual filters and stuff that are currently being programmed on the main M8.

I know exactly what you mean about the trouble. I keep thinking of routing possibilities and getting stuck in the analysis paralysis of it all but I'm zeroing in on adding 2 0coasta and a typhon which would be very fun.

good mixing and mastering, the bass is realllllly good and not middley despite you filtering it so HARD

would love to see you play this live with a guitarist slamming these distorted chords!
