Nothing Fucks You Harder Than Time (live) | Rhytmic Noise Techno

Hard, brutal rhythmic noise techno excerpt from my first live set in 22+ years. Well, from my last rehearsal jam before my set... as I haven't received the footage from the actual event yet. But I did something broadly similar. I loaded up a few samples, and pre-programmed a handful of patterns on my Elektron Analog Rytm. To have some basic building blocks to improvise with. Holy moly, that thing absolutely slays on a big club system. The kick pushed some serious air! Which  was fun!!

The event itself was the Pulsar Showcase. An open mic for (electronic) music. Where you had a 30 minute slot to do what you want. Very diverse line-up. With me definitely having the gnarliest sound. lol.

I was on 2nd to last act at midnight. There were people on the dance floor when I started. And there were still people on the dance floor when I finished my set. That wasn't the case for all performances. So I guess I did okay? But I have no idea how the audience experienced my music. As they were filming the event and put bright lights in front of my face. So I couldn't see the dark dance floor.

Anyway, it was fun to do! It was good to really focus on the Analog Rytm again. That thing is brutal as fuck! If there is another event like this I'm definitely signing up.

The title really resonates with me. Congrats on the live set, that sounds like a big deal. I can’t imagine what it’s like to hear your music on big club speakers but sounds special. The snare gives this great train energy (traveling by train this morning) and some of the higher frequency what sounds like granular sections and the high passed sections are great as “tunnels”. It’s too fast for this old man to dance to but it’s not too fast to enjoy!  Very nice.

Damn, you giving me flashback to a lost time of Tresor label and loud, in-your-face techno.
Congrats on your performance, nailed it!
