Distant Chrome Horizons | Techno to play WipEout to

By electronic_tiger on Yesterday 11:50 pm

Techno to play WipEout to. The CoLDSToRaGe/Tim Wright influence is strong this week. I layered in a few sounds from this week's community sample pack. Their use is subtle. And I've treated them further quite heavily. So they might be hard to recognize,  but they are oh so important for the overall sound design. So Thank you Lizenn and Endojo for contributing their samples. And AiDeRen for setting up the collaboration!

I'm not in anyway suggesting this track is speedtrash. But despite it being over 7 minutes long, it's a rush job nonetheless. Not sure if it's WB-fatigue creeping in. Or that I've just been distracted with a few other project and the dreaded 'real-life'. But lately I've not been putting as much time and effort into music as I'd like to. Coming week is another busy week. So hopefully I'll manage to actually get anything done.

Any and all feedback is welcome!

Like I mentioned above, the use of your samples is subtle, but integral to my track. As in, I processed them quite a bit further. They Endojo's bass sound became the upper, FM bass sound. And Lizenn's guitar note became the bleepy melody that plays through out, but solos at the end.

here is a list of everyone who contributed samples to this project. go check them out!

And that's a rush job?!
Liking the clashing harmonies the arpeggiated sounds and the bass of the starting at around 4:30.
When the synths are all drenched in reverb, it really adds textures and depth, nice.
Thanks for the shoutout! Hope to see your participation (your contributed drums were used a lot by a few tracks, mine included) again later this year!

Weird, huh. And it sounds like I'm bragging, which I'm not. But this was a real race against the clock to get done. Yes, I love clashing harmonies and tensions like that. So I go out of my way to add them. Sometimes I miss the 90s when electronic music was drenched in reverb. There are a gazillion good, technical reasons not to do it. But like you say, it adds so much texture.

I've got plenty of neat little toys I can sample for the next installment(s). So I'm looking forward to contributing again!

Thanks for listening and commenting, much appreciated!

Awesome track! Love the ecstatic uptempo vibe
