Bottom Feeder | Wildly overdriven electronics | Rhythmic Noise, Industrial, tekknoise in 13/8th

If what you're listening on doesn't have a good bass response then you'll be missing out. This week we're doing some industrial / rhythmic noise inspired music in 13/8th. Featuring some wildly overdriven, distorted electronics. I started way too late. So I only had a couple of hours to make this. Wish I had more, there something I'd love make bit tighter. But I like the overall vibe of this track. Enjoy!

Any and all feedback is welcome.

NOT ENOUGH electronic music playing with time signatures like this, spoken as a person who also loves monotonous house music smile

love when the filtering kind of "boils over"

great 3 acts overall

oh man you made this in a few hours?  there are so many rich ideas here!  SUPER impressed with that in mind.

Rare time tigs and Im in. Love it yo!

Thank you Orange Drink! I agree, people could play a lot more with time signatures.

It's one of the downside of working with DAWs and hardware sequencers. They're mostly geared towards 16 steps 4/4. So it takes effort to break out of that mold. Unlike with an acoustic instrument, or anything where you actually perform. Then people are more likely to experiment with time signatures, if only through intuition.

Not to imply that there is anything wrong with common time. You can certainly make that groove as well. And like you say, the monotony of the four to the floor can be ever so hypnotic. But it would be nice if people ventured outside of the norm a bit more, yes.

Yup, made it in 3.5 hours.... plus 20+ years of experience of making music. That helps a lot at being fast! As well as having everything wired up. So I don't have to spend time plugging things in. That is also a great speed boost.

Thanks again for listening, much appreciated!

Thank you NeonRebar, I'm happy to hear that!

This is killer, really dig not just the odd time signature, but also that periodic gating. I feel like a lot of us will do a lot to fill the space like you do with that absolutely huge bass, but not enough to pull it back sometimes, and that's really cool. This is a definite favorite!

this is awesome!!

Oops, I missed this one. Thanks dadboy! I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed it. The gating effect is really just adding a rest / removing the notes that are there in the previous pattern. It's a powerful effect as it shakes things up, draws you in and keeps you engaged. Thanks again for listening and commenting, much appreciated!

Thank you! I'm happy that it's resonating with you. Compression and distortion are your friends when it comes to get wild sounds like that. Thanks again for listening to my tunes, much appreciated!
