My Love Don't Love

By E-dub on January 11, 2020 3:43 pm

I wrote this song about a year ago. I think it was the only song I wrote in 2019. Originally it was a country song with a totally different chord progression and almost everything was different except for the lyrics. The original can be found here: https://www.reverbnation.com/edmundsnyder/song/30679254-i-guess-my-love-dont-me-anymore

Anyway, I did a re-imagining of the song in more of an R&B style with the classic 2-5-1 chord progression and sans my guitar. In truth, I wanted to sing a song but I didn't feel like writing new lyrics so I recycled my own lyrics.

Nothing wrong with a little recycling.  I'm listening to the original for comparison right now and I can definitely still hear it in the final iteration, although the sound pallet is quite different.  It's very cool to see the evolution of a song like this though.

That synth in the break is almost an accordion. Can I request an accordion?

I really like the vocals. Not sure I am fan of the main keyboard that is really loud on the mix, but song is well done, and you can sing smile . Fun stuff anyways! Pretty sure I'll have great times listening to your tracks this year.

Thanks man.

I can't play an accordion and I don't own one either. So I'll have to stick with synths.

It sounded good through both my monitor speakers and my headphones, but I should try listening in my car and on a few other devices if the keyboard is too loud. I'm also old and have some high-frequency hearing loss so I usually use a low-pass filter to knock down some of the highs that are out of my hearing range--but I forgot to do that since I haven't done this for awhile.

Nice one smile

nice singing!  I like the stabby synths
