Livin a Day at a Time

By E-dub on February 4, 2018 7:38 pm

As those who are regular listeners know, I enjoy experimenting with new things. This is essentially a guitar/drums/bass loop repeated six times with some rap verses and a repeating chorus.  I am decidedly not a rapper, but it's fun to try to broaden my horizons I guess.

--------------------------------------------------------
lyrics:

Day at a time, just livin' a day at a time.
Just a day at a time. Try not to step outta line.
While you're livin' a day at a time.
You're livin' a day at a time. Livin' a day at a time.
Livin' a day at a time.

Get back, Lucy, and get out, Steve.
What kinda trick is that up your sleeve?
Runnin' around with your pants on fire.
Lookin' like a bum 'til you retire.

Think fast, Sally, and drink fast, Sam.
Acting like you ain't giving a damn.
Sittin' around in your underwear.
Lookin' like a fool but you just don't care.

Get up, Susie, and wake up, Ted.
How you gonna spend your life in your bed?
Wonder if there'll ever be something more.
Get up and answer the door.

Experimentation is great. I like what you are doing.

Love it... fun!

Pretty cool to see you rapping and trying new things. It has a more "The Moldy Peaches" half folk/half rap vibe. Nice!

Maybe not rap, but damn good.

One of the best parts about Weekly Beats is with so many weeks to fill there really are lots of opportunities to experiment outside your comfort zones.  Even if an experiment fails it's only one week out of the year.  This, however, is definitely not a failure.  It's quite a fun little track!

RAPPING IS THE BEST!  Come on man, how are you NOT a rapper?  Did you not just rap?  Is your name not E-dub?  I'm pretty sure you are a rapper.  This has got a nice relaxed vibe, so I am going to call this "Island Rapping".  Maybe needs some steel drums to totally seal the island thing smile  Great job!  I request more rapping please.

Thank you, gentlemen. I appreciate the feedback.
