Everything Goes Wrong

By E-dub on October 30, 2014 2:45 am

Due to some health issues and time constraints, I haven't been able to write songs in quite awhile.  After I recorded this music, my wife said it sounded like The Doors, so I got that stuck in my head while writing lyrics and singing.  My voice is nothing like Morrison's though.

--------------------------------------------------
A million raindrops from her eyes
pouring into song,
yet not a one flows anywhere as
everything goes wrong.
So many souls
So few who care
She rips her heart out 'til there's nothing left to share.

There's nothing left to sing about
no meaning to her song.
Her voice has gone silent as
everything goes wrong.

A thousand times she's agonized
searching for the right word
to describe the torment in her heart
in her heart in a way that no one's heard.
So many times her anguish
falls on deafened ears,
so now she's numb to everything
her eyes have no more tears.

There's nothing left to sing about,
no meaning to her song.
Her voice has gone silent as
everything goes wrong.

Glad to see you back, Edmund! Hope things are getting better...

I think your wife has a point, at least with those psyched keyboards. I could picture Manzarek behind you.

Stay strong, man, and keep the songs coming smile

Peace

great song, very unique lo-fi but produced really well. definitely can sympathize with this.

Since Manzarek was a keyboard god, I'll definitely take that as a compliment.  It's amazing what you can do with a 21 key MIDI controller and the right digital instrument.

Thank you, Grey, I appreciate it.

Second (third?) the above about having you back in the fold. Great piece -- lots of energy.
