Defuse

Watched a whole bunch of videos on composers and their different ways to come up with a score. This one i was going for a Hanz Zimmerish type of thing. C+C always welcomed

This is good. Do you have the actual "score" for it, meaning some way to reconstruct the same piece if someone else wanted to do it, say, in 100 years or something? If not, this is something worth considering. The piece itself works really well, develops nicely, expands, etc. I feel it could use a bit more "space"/"rest", but that's just me. If you haven't already, check out Edgard Varese's work in electronic music, and how he wrote scores for everything he did.

Super epic man :] Definitely feeling the Hanz Zimmer influence here :]

This is great.  Which videos were you watching???

Aww, man. Those slow slides and the dissonance it creates make me feel so antsy in the beginning. I'm liking the chord progressions too. Those distorted drums are a great touch to the piece. Great development, though I kinda wish the bass was a little thicker.

This is just awesome. So awesome. Im speechless.

Thank you.

Excellent work.

Deep.  Dig the piano motif mid way too.  Great track.

This is really delicious. Those drums are sick, the piano stuff sorta reminds me of Glass, the layers in this are just freaking awesome! I think the mix is great, but I agree with Jetkick in that it needs moar bass!

@ Vinpous There is a way to export midi to actual notes on a staff in FL 10. If i figure it out i'll update with a pdf of the sheet music.

@Dinosaur I searched youtube for hanz zimmer lol then watched about 6 or so of the related videos. Also sample library demos were super inspiring.

this has plenty of bass.. i think what jetkick meant was that the bass sound lacks higher harmonics and sounds kinda flat with no dynamics.. ala Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick.. then again. maybe he was talking about the tick tick tick at the end

DrumurBoy: http://playtherecords.com/uploaded_images/score_detail-708103.jpg check this out, image of a score for an electronic piece by Varese, just layouts of sounds and directions, rather than notes on paper!

@ philharmonic i know the strings are kinda thin . meh free samples lol

This is really nice.  Would work great on a soundtrack.  Good stuff!

WOW, someone needs to put you in touch with Darren Aronofsky - or Dario Argento needs to make a new film to go with this soundtrack. Spooky and etherial with some spectacular changes and developments. Wonderful work!

Nice job. I wasn't expecting to like that beat when it came in, but it works well.

Love the beat in this, nice contrast between the two.

really spacey and atmospheric, love the gradual layering. real nice. respect
