W18 Intermission 2

By Drum Bender on May 5, 2024 11:57 pm

Piano improv. Recorded to tape. Recorded again by mic-ing the tape machine's speaker and softly pressing the pause button to get extra tape warble.

Spent most of my week starting a tape label and converting the garage into a small venue / free music instrument locker. That has been super fun!

Trying to get 5 fans.

Another great mood piece! This sounds great on tape too, especially with the sharp pitch warbles. I've never experimented with a tape machine, maybe I should? I've always been about DAWs for convenience but sometimes music should be a bit inconvenient, I suppose.

P.S. Make a Patreon video about the work you've been doing in the garage!

very cool improve and manipulation. Also rad about your studio/venue/instrument locker, where are you located?

Thanks! I'm out in Sacramento.

Expert playing of the pause button.

You got a wonderful result with the treatmend of the track - between that reverb that puts the instruments in the back and the EQ work. This is really great to set up the mood. That play in the middle with something that is a bit similar to wah pedal is really interesting to create textures. I loved that intermission!

Awesome effect! An incredible mood piece on its own and I bet you could chop this up into some gnarly beats.
