Greetings fellow Weekly Beaters! I hope everyone is merry and well. What a week it's been...absolute madness from a musical point of view smile Sorry I've been a little behind on my listening - hoping to catch up with all of your genius endeavours this week!

Had my very first live gig with many of the songs that you've heard first here - it was just as crazy and last-minute as many of my 11:59pm submissions too, keeping in the whole spirit of the project! The band are such a joy to play with and we had such terrific support throughout - I'm editing a few fun video clips of the night that I'll stick up soon. Meanwhile, here's a picture of a happy (terrified, but happy) me playing:

Also, I'm currently running in second place for the EuroMusic 2014 Competition! It's a dizzying sensation, the support that I'm getting from everyone, and I can't express my thanks adequately for everyone that's been voting and promoting the page. I've already spammed a little here about it, so I won't clog your brains any further, but please if you can give me a click on this page and help me get to the finals. You can vote once per day until May 10th and every single click counts at this stage...thanks so much everyone big_smile

This is a little rough to say the least but I hope y'all like it smile

Sing:

Even on the dullest day you sing
Believe in all the subtle ways
You swing your candle
Lighting cobwebbed corridors
But did you say this haunted house is yours?
No it's not so simple
When the gaunts seep from your pores

No, it's hard but you're able
Body's willing, mind's a fable
What'll prove it? Yeah, this tape will...
Until you let your guard down
It wraps around you

Time's up - this session is through
The clock is stuck
It's expression disapproves
So wake up

There might be wolves inside you
Don't you know?
If so, the ones you feed the most will grow
All out of proportion
They're forcing their way outside
So select yourself a silver box to hide in
Protect your selfish jester head's come-inside grin

No, it's hard but you're able
Body's willing, mind's a fable
I've a forceps - yeah this state will
Drag the creature screaming, scheming
From my dreaming mind

I like the hat tip to the old Cherokee proverb about two wolves.  I don't have much else to say.  Enjoyable as usual.

All in smoothness this week. Enjoyed it!

Thanks very much Edmund! I always love that proverb - so true in all aspects of our lives smile

The writing process was anything but smooth, so glad I managed to hide that! Thanks RawTicks big_smile

always a fan of your chord progressions and these are ever so soothing! It reminded me a bit of Gonzales' Solo Piano albums, which if you haven't heard I def recommend smile  Keep tracking along!

Oh you big flipper, I've given you my thumbs up on this during the week, but I had to come back for more, the vocals in this one could be on of my favourites so far! Catch-a-diddly-o!

Thanks so much! It's amazing that they come out soothing when you consider the (occasional...heheh) rushing that surrounds their playing wink

Really appreciate it ToneMatrix, and I've never heard the albums you mentioned - googling now!

Oh really!? Great man thanks a million! I'm going to start picking ones to re-record with a bit more time and ssssoul soon, so perhaps I'll give this a spin. I'll also have to get you to do some single artwork for me wink
