Greetings everyone! Can't believe it's March already (and that I'm still managing to keep up here)...hope y'all had a great week. Thank you so much for all the amazing comments last week - I'm very flattered and grateful to say the least. I've noticed myself taking far more risks both with my piano playing and my singing and it's directly a result of the awesome Weekly Beats crew - thanks a lot big_smile

This was definitely the hardest session for me so far, for some reason that I'm not yet sure of, I'm totally exhausted after a fairly intense 24 hours of developing this piece. I just got utterly lost in it and I'm looking forward to coming back and listening when my brain works again! It's certainly one for my Strange And Intense shelf smile Hope you dig it!

Precious:

What's wrong with you?

Sitting on a precious mountaintop
Observing the trees
Swaying in the breeze
Doing just as they please
Your shadow slips out from beneath a rock
And whistles a tune
"Your time is coming soon..."
Swap the sun for the moon

A plague of fantasies descend upon
This haven of mine
And though I know I'm fine
It's amazing to watch them dine
They're tearing the horizon from the ground
It's cracking like ice
They're pulling me inside
Where nothing is born, or dies

We'll fashion a mask of all your paper planes
(you love it too, don't you? love it)
Get passionless, bask in awe
Your growing pains hold sway in your head
Groundless and extreme
The source of your dread distressful dreams
If you don't love it
Why don't you chuck it out?

A hair emerges from my head
It's boldly grey amidst brown
As I swim in sound
To you, I'm just fucking around
But while the outside world is dead
My soul replays symphonies
I grab at them and seize a mountain
For you and me

A wondrous time was had by all concerned
(you know it too, don't you? know it)
The candle has died, both ends have been burned
The friends that you keep love you as you are
Day ends and you sleep, lover in your arms
If you know it
Why don't you show it?

What's wrong with you?
Don't bother me
My heart's abreeze
Treating myself like a precious object
Will make me strong

Brilliant stuff, this one certainly had the "frisson factor" on me, a king of sneaky beauty about it...

smile

I dig the doubling up on the vocals. Well worth the extra work

Great melody from the Piano as usual and the vocals are really cool. I like the variety of the vocals too.  If this had a music video I'd imagine it being similar to Radiohead's Paranoid Android.  Not sure how you keep up with writing lyrics each week but kudos to you on yet another good track smile  Also thank you very much for the nice comments it means a lot!

Wow, great work on this! Love the vocals. They remind me of Mike Patton smile

I agree with the Mike Patton comparison, I love the way you play with your voice (and great range too!). Great piano skills. Another out of the ball park for you!

Cool! Pretty crazy big_smile Echoing the guy pointing out a similarity to Mike Patton smile

Great playing and extraordinary work on the vocals. It's getting better and better each week. Keep it up!

great piece! must be awesome to have a voice like that!

Wow guys, thanks a million for the amazing feedback - very flattering comparisons indeed! This week will be quite the challenge I feel, had a painful operation, but I'll do my best to keep it up smile. Thanks once more for listening
