this week I wanted to do something that goes more into direction to the great Gangpol & MIT and challenges me with a category of music that I have barely touched in the past few years. it was a good excercise! I worked hard on the uniqueness of every measure and pattern. it took a few times until I found the right start. I dumped a few previous sketches. I hope you like the result!

backstage look: 68 Layers in Cubase, 55 of which are virtual plugins. wonderful technology. some of the plugins I used: synthmaster, massive, kontakt (with free cajon by sonic cat), c64 soundbank from the BPB, Reaktor with so many ensembles I lost count (one of them "Calc-U-Synth_VR"), FM8, ect. - final Mastering in Ozone 5

I recently akquired a MOTU UltraLite mk3 audio interface and I find the response is really snappy with the latest drivers. Love the sound, too!

Aaahh how sunny and nice. Awesome rich smorgasbord of timbres, well held together by chip-ness.

Happy, happy music!

Yay big_smile !!!

Unbelievable (unfair smile) and awesome creative output! Personally i would fail awfully in doing chiptunes. So big respect for these wonderful tunes alone. Mix-wise I couldn't imagine it being any better! Hats off!!!

... and thanks a lot for the backstage look! Always very nice to have!

Fantastique!

OK, I'm going to have to bust this track out during the Thanksgiving holiday. Sunny, perky, and yet somehow twisted and wrong in all the right ways, it's completely perfect.  Outstanding!

I really appreciate the picture so I can follow along with the crazynes and get a peek into your production process... as well as you outlining the synths that you used and stuff...

congrats on he Motu ... I'm looking for an interface myself... I'll check in and see how you progress...

This got me smiling, nice track with lot of variations & snappy mix:)

btw. I've been happy with my old ultralite 1, sounds ok, reliable on my mac
(dont want to talk about how it was on my pc laptop:/  ) low latency etc.
changed some better opamps to it years ago.
But now I actually found cheap apogee duet that I'm trying to get working with my motu&logic.

total fun!

This is really cool.  Definitely brings back memories of playing video games as a kid, except this song is even better.  Really digging the fun, happy vibe.

Reminds me of an early platform game. Groovy track wink

I love how this has retro level up sounds and a guitar break in there...its got err ting...
nice one... (again..)

awwww dang this is a super fun track!  I love how it takes on a manic feel as the setting changes.  That's an awesome layout in cubase.  I love seeing how intricate tracks can get, awesome job! smile
