Blood Totem

Given how my week ended up, this is bit more extended proof of concept, but I'm pretty happy with it.
It's my first time with microtones (24 seems easiest for beginners), I'm really happy that I made it sound "not crunchy".

I started with simple melody and immediately got "alternative universe tribe" vibe with some uncanny flavour, so decided to lean into that.

Might revisit the idea next week tbh, I really like the direction

Also, probably will stay with 7/4 for a few weeks, to explore it further.

sounds great, I wouldn't even think it's microtonal x)
Maybe it sounds natural with strings

clicky crabby percussion does weird things on the brain, it feels oddly satisfying on the level of bubble wrap and mildly infuriating at the same time, good stuff big_smile

Really like the atmosphere

If that was a proof of concept, I'm looking forward to see it expanded :3

Very cool feeling. the melody seems so grounded and slow moving (I guess because of the microtones idk) but the speed of the actual notes gives it a rushing, maybe chasing Impression.

The shimmering in the background brings a certain “je ne sais quoi” (pardon my French) that gives these weird but cool vibes to it. This is good and really nice, feels otherworldly and enticing.

Your work is really good @dreat

Thanks! Turns out 24EDO is not so good for beginners after all, but there are some ways to make it sound less crunchy big_smile quick melody seems to be a good fit for that big_smile

Thanks! It's a new perspective on a song that I had not have before. Big thank you for that. Maybe it's something worth exploring further?
