fucking great vocal tone!!! on the piano track there seems to be some odd stuttering happening - almost like it's being sidechain compressed by a kick that isn't playing - it's like a dropout or something?

It is sidechained. You should be hearing a click with it. I was trying to make it sound like an old record popping...guess it didn't work out as I had hoped. sad

It should be an easy fix though - just shorten the release time! the release time is just long enough that it sounds like its fading in and out - there's also lots of good vinyl simulation vsts out there like isotope's vinyl, can sound really good if used slightly in the mix as a subtle touch. oh well it doesn't change the fact that this song is fuckin beautiful

Thanks so much dude! I'll have to check that out.

piano reminds me of the silent hill 4 soundtrack (that's a compliment). seconding what dan said about izotope vinyl; it's legit! i dunno, i think the sidechain effect you have going adds a lot more depth to the track and actually makes it sound haunting. fav'd

love the piano and melancholy feel in this and either way i think the vocals have a cool sound to them that sits well with the feel of the track.  Well done!
