Strange -- even though I hate diet drinks, I love this, esp. the drums.

hahaha I was totally expecting a gif of the beach, great track!!

This track develops in some interesting ways.  I like the sound at the very beginning as well as the almost stuttering effect at the very end.

I'm really enjoying this one. Glad you are taking the 80s reference and making it evolve.

BTW, the mastery of mix and ambience is notable. It's cool to listen to that ¿Linndrum/DMX? along with tape stops and slight glitch. Is it the real gear or just samples?

Thanks man! Trying to take that 80s vibe and push it into new territory.
Really appreciate that you dig the ambiance, those little details are super important to me! And yeah i think this drum kit is made up of a modern kick and then a 707 snare layered with a gated snare from the dr550 (sooo 80s) plus a hip hop snare for pop. It's all samples but i don't feel too bad about it because the originals are all romplers anyway (still wish i had the space to own em all tho lol)

Indeed, Sir! You nailed it: too much hipster aura about "the character", but basically most of the 80's drum machines were small sample players. I usually ask because using the original hardware there were sometimes high constrains on sequencing and layering... And yeah, I suffered the DR550 (love/hate relationship, more less... my first drum machine).

Curious about what could you do with some Yamaha RX15 sounds and some kind of new wave track like Don Henley's "The boys of summer" wink
