Un avenir incertain

By djippy on August 21, 2020 2:01 pm

Wanted to do some cleanish electric guitars this week. I was able to record some drums at home as well.

I thinks the song works ok.

Lyrics:

Une autre journée
A avancer
Quelque part
Rendu au soir

Se réveiller
Puis oublier
Les rêves changés
En désespoir

Puis regarder un peu plus loin
Penser à tout
Penser à rien

Puis tout change
D’un moment à l’autre
Rien ne me dérange
C’est vraiment étrange.

Alors avancer
Vers demain.
Essayer d'avancer pour faire du bien.

On se voit demain.

The cleaner guitars sounded good and I liked the kind relaxed pace of it.  I can't comment on the lyrics, since I don't understand them, but I enjoyed the overall vibe of the song.

Something about the limitations of your drum recording really make it so unique and intimate.  I'm so glad you made the effort to record them!  I love this track and this loose indie rock vibe.

Random questions, feel free not to answer: Were you born in France?  Do you live there now?  Do you have any solo albums?  Where can I hear your other band?

Thx!

1- No, I am a north american like you, born not too far from Montreal, Canada.

2- I do live in Longueuil (5 mins south of Montreal)

3- No solo stuff, this is the first time I take the time to compose. I like to play original song but as a band without having to do much... Lol. Actually I find it very fun to compose this year and I'll probably release some of it...

3- This is diy recording done a while ago, we play with a new bassist and a new singer now but this is still me and Niko... https://artist.landr.com/music/672985457416

Hope you can connect with it, quality of recording/mixing is not the best but it is a nice snapshot into the time.

You could be singing about jelly beans for all I know but you sound like you're in total agony, I love it. Like others have said, very intimate and unique!

you always do very good recordings. In this case every instrument has enough space. That fits to the slow tempo of the track. very nice.

I like these lyrics about the uncertainty of the future yet about the need to just go on, even though the direction is unclear. The drum has a raw sound that helps a lot with the vibe of this track.

I'll take note about it... Maybe I'll do a song about jelly beans by the end of this year... smile Thanks!

I can assure you that I sometimes do shitty recordings too, but this year I did develop some workflows that seems to work not too bad... smile. My arrangements are not too crowded so it helps.

Acoustic drums are very cool, this is very unique to record my drumset on my garage... It is pretty cool that you guys think it sounds good.

That shiny sharp guitar tone and fat bass make an awesome combo.  Like the down tempo and dig the laid back drumming.

Definitely a different sound on this one, I like it.  The mix sounds great.

just came back to say this track is awesome and the ascending riff is soooo good.
