Quarantaine (Entre les murs)

By djippy on March 20, 2020 3:32 pm

I did this one mostly because of Saucey-dough . He did release some great pop-punk songs this year and I lived my teenage years on the 90's. So I wanted to do a punk song.

I am really not used to play that on the drums, but I made it kind of work. Anyways, it is punk so fuck it!

Since I am stuck at home cause of Coronavirus, I did this week song about that.

Next songs will be more difficult to add acoustic drums (those were recorded last week) because the rehearsal studio is closed. I'll use the electronic kit or make noise at home!

This one was very fun to do and I really like how it turned out. Not much mixing done, could be better but who gives a shit, it is punk rock!

Listening back to the song, it really reminds me of "Les Vulgaires Machins", a Montreal band that released pretty cool stuff.

Happy Listening!

ROCK!

Lyrics:

Whoooa whoooaaa whoooaaaa

Definitely has a fun punk rock energy.  I like the multi-tracked vocals.  Fun quarantine song.

yeah PUNK ROCK.  that's funny that Saucey-dough is inspiring people to make pop punk songs on here!  Nice work, I'm digging the vocals.  Wish I knew what you were saying.

awesome!  love the energy.  love the slow down breakdown

Yes very fun, this is what I was listening to for a long time. I'll update the submission with the vocals.

Thanks!

Djippy, Im honored! Thanks for the shout out man! Love the fast drums and baseline. The vocals are eerily catchy too!  I'd love to learn a bit more of some Montreal based punk. Punk is punk in any language my friend. This reminds me of early Anti- Flag. If you were listening to punk in the 90's/early 2000's, I'm sure you've heard of them. If not, they are an American based punk band that is super politically driven. Thanks again for the mention Djippy. Hope you guys are staying safe during these odd times.

There was a good scene in Montreal, the ones that did "good" with locals were mostly:

- Grimskunk https://grimskunk.bandcamp.com/
- Reset (singer from Simple Plan did sing into that too) https://resetmusic.bandcamp.com/
- The Saint Catherines (they were signed by fat wreck chords I think for one album) https://thesaintecatherines.bandcamp.com/
- Groovy Aardvark https://exitstagedive.bandcamp.com/
- Les Vulgaires Machins https://www.vulgairesmachins.ca/
- Les Marmottes aplaties https://lesmarmottesaplaties.bandcamp.com/

Happy listening. And yes I really liked Anti-flag, afi, and all the ones that were on the vans warped tour...

\m/ yessssss! punk à souhait! heart
