Good bye, time to party!

Almost the end of the year, and time to wrap this weekly beats journey for 2020.

First of all, big THANKS!!! to all of you that did listen to some of my tracks. Thanks to the community that is very awesome.

I am pretty proud that I could do the 52 tracks this year. Some of it I really enjoy, (actually most of it, I have a couple of things that I find painful to hear but it is what it is, it is a snapshot of something I did at that time)

I am happy that I have been able to listen to some amazing tracks.

I am grateful for everything I have since the impact of COVID this year contrary to many people for me was mostly positive (start to work from home full time, this year I changed job and do more money, less time on the road, more time with the family).

It is not all perfect as I do miss to see some people, I didn't play as much with my friends this year, and it is somewhat stressful to live in this era, but I do have some instruments, some ideas, some food, a couple of people that I love.

Special mention to Gab Manette because it is him that made me discover the site and I am here because of him. I was able to practice a little, touch my instruments, improve some of my workflows.

I am not sure if I'll be part of weekly 2022, I have to think about it first but I think so. Maybe more as a Bertrude thing. I don't know yet.

I wanted to probably add some vocals on this final track, but couldn't put the time in. smile

I think it is a fun track anyways!

I like the laid back atmosphere in this track, with the cool bass and the glitchy elements. Very nice, especially with the raw drums coming in.

Gab Manette was quite extraordinary! I have been missing his tracks, his 80s sitcoms synthwave vibe!

Bonne chance avec Bertrude!

Awesome closing track.  Rocking the bells smile Very appropriate for the season and ringing in the new years.  The electronic and acoustic elements are well blended together. The samples lend a very futuristic sheen.  Good to get to know you a bit this year and happy to hear the positivity in the midst of one the strangest years in recent generations. Keep on rocking!  Maybe we meet again in 2022!  I'm on the fence as well but a year off does wonders.

A great chilled out close to the year.  I enjoyed listening to your tracks this year.  I liked the diversity you brought but the raw rocking sound of a lot of your tracks really stood out to me.  I did my first WeeklyBeats back in 2014 and every time it's rolled around since then I've questioned whether I really want to do it again.  I've always ended up just going for it and then at the end of the year I'm glad I did it.  It's a big commitment, but I also try to remember there's no law saying you have to do all 52 weeks.  You could participate in every even numbered week or something and it could be a bit more manageable.  I know for me I always start out thinking "it's okay to miss some weeks," but then once I get going I get weirdly obsessed with doing all 52.  Maybe I'll see you back here in 2022, but regardless good luck on your future endeavors!

a nice expansion of sounds. Like the mix. There will be lots of new impressions in 2022 if you continue with this style. For you and your sweet family all my best wishes.

Congrats and making it through the year smile. This is a fun and laid back jam to wrap up the year with too. I feel ya on a lot of this stuff, especially contemplating 2022 WB. If you're thinking the same thing as me, I'm probably going to come back and upload some tunes but I definitely won't feel this sense of personal obligation to do all 52 weeks like I did this year. I've proved to myself I can do it, so I don't need to do it again. However, because the experience was so special to me I don't think I'll abandon weeklybeats, I still want to participate and keep up with all you guys smile. So maybe you'll be doing the same. See you in 2022 probably!

I know myself, and I can be stubborn, so if I do it in 2022 I'll probably go for 52 weeks again... wink .

It will depends on projects that will be present there. It was a great year for me to do it with all the time I was spending at home...

Big plan for 2021 is to put some $$$ and time to add some sound isolation to the garage-home studio. Try to set it up even more functional. Take some time with the family (We have nice paternity condition in Quebec, I'll be able to take 5 weeks off this year cause of that).

We still have an unfinished LP to record with Bertrude as well so we will see how this goes... If some shows are possible, I'd love to play live some of our band stuff as well. (we will see).

I really enjoyed doing those weekly beats this year, so I think I'll do it again, but I do not commit to it yet. smile

Thanks a lot! I didn't put as much time into it as I wanted, but I think it is fun anyways and it does feel like an OK outrow to 2020 smile. I enjoyed your track a lot this year.

Fuck yeah, I'll still rock as it is my cure. (This and booze but I plan to cut on the alcool in 2021, confident I'll drink a little less and probably do close to as much ROCK!) It was very enjoyable to be able to share those ideas to you guys, I really liked to listen to your tracks. Happy 2021 to you, see you on 2022?

Merci pour les bons mots, c'était super d'écouter tes tracks, tes commentaires ont fait plaisir.

You guys ROCK!!!

have a good one.

Shoutouts to Gab!  Great track, this actually sounds like the big party ended and a few friends are there eating the rest of the chips and someone is slowly cleaning up confetti.  The bell ringing indicates that it's actually 6am and everyone has stayed up the night smile  I've really enjoyed your drumming this year smile

Merci, Monsieur!

I like this groove a lot, love the little glitchy percussive bits, fun bells, and nice synths. Good closer! Glad you were here, fun to check out your stuff this year. Have great 2021, maybe see ya here in 2022! Yeah much respect to Gab, cool that he brought you here!

This year had ups and downs, just very low lows.
I dig this mellow groove. The bells add some finality to the thing.

Shout out to Gab from me too, hope he's doing well. Thanks for all your comments this year, it was a pleasure wbing with you. I for one would be delighted to see you back in 2022, I hope you go for it after all.
