En vacances c'est étrange

By djippy on Yesterday 4:22 pm

Kind of a pop track. Midi instruments and my "flow" over it.

Lyrics:

En vacances, sur cette ile paradisiaque
Je me prélasse, joue tranquille, au dominos
Aligne les tuiles, un tracé rigolo

Et tout à coup un UFO

Une pyramide lévite
J’essaye de faire tomber les dominos
Rien ne bouge le doute m’habite
Le temps s’arrête

C'est les vacances, Les vacances.
Mais c'est étrange.

Fitness journal. I pretty crushed it last week, bounced back from multiple weaker weeks to 12hrs of cardio. Weight still at 92 tho... I should start to check what I eat.

with lunches like the one in the photo, im surprised the kilos/pounds aren't flying off. looks close to my diet!

those lyrics works so well with the feel of the track (translated when it was like 70% through). great track. the little twinkly bell sounds give me old school sci-fi vibes in the most cozy way.

cool stuff!

sounds cold wave/industrial to me big_smile
there's a certain... uneasiness? (in a good way) to this that I really vibe with. I would love to hear more tracks around this style from you

I have no idea how you did it tbh, but it's really, really good! heart
Happy to have helped with the lyrics big_smile

It has a weird vibe. And it has a certain je ne sais quoi about. It reminds of something that I can't remember. But it feels like a pop tune alright. Nicely done.

12 hours of cardio is a significant amount of exercise! And yeah, sadly the cardio and gym will mostly only make you fit. Making changes in the kitchen and what you take in, is where you can lose the most weight. But more power to you for getting into shape!

Such a cheeky track, ha ha.
Love the Mellotron usage.
Got a strong 60s French pop music feel (Gainsbourg, Dutronc, and so on).
(Also love the major switch up.)

C'est pô bein p'sible d'être autant dans l'fun !
(That's my best impression of a Canadian accent, hope you like it.)

As an aside, if you really are eating what you should and doing a ton of exercice, don't be too surprised to not weigh less, you might be losing more fat than gaining muscle (muscle is heavier than fat), so it might be a good news.

I am happy that at least my weight is stable, and I am about 4-5kg lighter then October last year so it is a win. I really do not like to check what I eat, it is summer, I like treat and eating junk. At least the heart can pump some blood, I feel decently in shape and in energy those days so mostly good!

Thanks! Did use some chord generator first for the chord progressions, did curate some fun synth patches, used drum midi files as well from addictive drums, then my vocals over it. Voilà!

Cardio also burns calories and helps to accelerate metabolism, so if I am not too stupid about my sugar snacks, even without checking much and counting usually I do get some gain (loss?)... But yeah, obviously when you do sports there are good chances that you feel like eating more as well.

Thanks for the kind comments about the track, I just "rushed" it last Sunday, so I am not sure yet how much I like it, but I think I do!

Super happy that you do like the track!

Yeah, the eating part is the one that I really am not good to be consistent at... I tell myself multiple excuses, having kids at home and a girlfriend that like sugar a lot I always have access to "junk" fuel, plus I love it as well so... Staying at the same weight is a win already, did lose about 5kg since last October, plus I am in a way better shape and have better energy all around.

I'll try to discipline myself more so I feel even better...

Thanks again all! Take care.

Oooh the mellotron choir sounds awesome with your vocals and drums on the chorus. Sweet fills and an excellent laid back groove.  Well done!
