Bunnies

Another Jam, with Niko and Mitch this time. Improvisation in E G C... Missing Bertrude Bassman for the jam, so I added a synth bass to cover the bass spectrum. I really think it misses a groovy bass line but didn't have time to try to put on a real bass and it is what it is.

It is not that bad if we consider it is a live jam.

Enjoy.

The sick guitars and drums make up for the lack of live bass I think.  Not that some sweet bass licks would add anything negative, but you've made it work without it.

C'est super! ça sort très clean pis la track est fun! Ca doit être vraiment nice de jammer live big_smile

Wow I'm impressed with the quality of your live recording.  This turned out really well.  The synth bass sounds good with the guitars and drums.  Nice work.

Marvelous live recording quality here! Feels intense like I'm in the room.

Thanks guys, comments are always appreciated, positive comments even more.

For those interested of the workflow and how it was done you can continue to read.

Basically it is a relatively big rehearsal room that the band I play in rent. I leave mics and soundcard plugged in there (audient id14 and a motu 8 pre) and just bring my laptop for the rehearsal. For this specific recording, we did jam drums and the 2 guits first, all in the same room. It was a hss strat and a telecaster on "small" tube combo amps (Blackstar and Hugues an kettner) Drums miked with 6 mics (kick, snare, tom, floor tom, 2 overheads), one close mic on each guitars for a total of 8 ins. Then Mitch did 2 improvisations vocal takes. (So this is not just a live performance, vocals are overdubs). Synth bass added at home.

I really didn't work on the mix for this one, If I am not wrong it is just a drum bus compressor, and the plugin izotope ozone 8 element on the stereo track so it is loud (and plugin did some "master" eq as well with his algorhitm)

Damn, awesome live jam. Soulful vocals and massive guitars. Sounds like fun!

Sweet hard rock, the beastly guitars cover for the bass nicely enough.

Best song i've heard called 'Bunnies' in a long long time! LIKE!

Not sure if I should take this as a compliment since I didn't find any other Bunnies tunes on google except for kids songs. Anyways, it was fun to jam, I had fun to copy paste the back vocals as well. smile Rock!

Thanks guys, I am truly lucky to play music with people I can connect with. smile . Doing solo stuff is fun too, but way different than with other people.

Rock.
