Attack on Titan

By djippy on January 23, 2022 1:39 pm

Hello,

This week I was given by a co-worker the theme Attack on Titan. I didn't even know that it was an anime series when I did the first draft but just this title was very evocative.

I did try to go EPIC!!! and I think I was able to do something kind of powerful.

Did use mostly virtual instruments:

Drums are addictive drums 2, did chose a midi file from it as well
Brass and a bass are from the spitfire audio BBC free library,
Dirty synth bass is Tracktion RetroMod 106
Arpegiated Synth is from AAS

but added my own vocals (war cry and actual vocal) and a track of floor tom over it.

Some reverb and delay. Voilà.

I maybe wanted to add a track of electric guitar and re-track the drums, adding other section with more stuff at some point but I know it will not happen...

Hope you can enjoy it.

JPD.

Cool track.  It does have a military/going off to war vibe along with a bit of a sci-fi feel and the vocals are a nice touch.

Oh yeah! Avec de la guit ce serait vraiment cool. Sinon je proposerais de mettre plus de layer de brass pour que ça sonne encore plus epic (soit avec des intervals plus large sur le keyboard et p-e avec plus de panning aussi). heart

This is really cinematic, I wish it was in a movie...

super epic!  this would be amazing live with two drummers at the same time.  great vocals!

I could see this in the movie 300!

This feels like it wouldn't be out of place in certain scenes of the actual series, man.

I like the beat buildup and the "hey", that gives the track a sense of scale! The brass brings that peplum movie vibe, that works well with the anime!

Awesome man!  Nailed the epic thing, very intense.

Absolutely oppressive

That is the vibe I was going for. Thanks for listening!

I quite like this movie! I like the comic book feel of it, it was a fun listen.

I started to listen to the anime and yes it really works for the theme.

Thanks!

Big Bad Wolf... this is epic! Love that relentless floor tom. Good mix of synth and live sound.  I like this aggressive new sound.

This puts me on edge… in a good way.

could not describe my feelings better than this comment.

Dark, eerie. I can see this on the soundtrack to a Bladerunner-esque film. Great stuff
