tried the Reaper JS general_dynamics plugin. It's another compressor but it lets you draw the compression curves. It might give it a cleaner sort of sound. Either way, I didn't use as many instances this time so the compression should be less heavy. I also tried crossfade modulation (attaching an oscillator to the crossfade of two other oscillators) and some panning tricks related to that

the synthesizing is done with Blok, but there's postprocessing with VSTs, like some EQ and the general_dynamics plugin I mentioned, and some Freeverb. But yeah, that's mostly it
