Here We Go Again

By Dizzi800 on June 19, 2024 1:21 pm

This one came together QUICK. Everything just flowed. I wanted to challenge myself by only using drums/percussive sounds and vocals.

I feel that I 'failed' in that the song could use some chords, but succeeded in that I like the song!

My dad died when I was very very young, so this song is about some of my feelings around that

All of the sounds you hear (other than vocals) are from the M8 (and then sweetened in ableton)

Lyrics:
Here
We go
Again
My friend
Here
We go
Again

You met me
And then you left
Leaving me alone
You left me
Feeling cursed
Never to atone

Here
We go
Again
My friend
Here
We go
Again

You
Cursed me
To believe
I'd never amount to anything
You
Left me
Without a vote
On you ever returning

Here
We go
Again
My friend
Here
We go
Again

You felt like you were carrying a tonne
You left without meeting your son
You never thought about the void
The hole in the heart you left your baby boy

Here
We go
Again
My friend
Here
We go
Again

Looking
in the mirror
Would he be proud
Of who I see there
I
Wish he was nearer
But wishes
Won't bring him here

Here
We go
Again
My friend
Here
We go
Again

Very sparse and morose.
- V

Good one! I enjoy these minimalistic instrumentation choices.
Maybe you could do the chords with stacked vocals?

Oh, this is very gloomy indeed. I hope you'll be able to find your peace.
