The Riddle

By Disposable Planet on February 4, 2022 11:34 pm

This one came out a bit like my Week 1 submission but less dark or intense and more chippy and laid back. Used some drum samples I already had on the M8 as well as some wavsynths and macrosynths.  Wanted to limit myself a bit so I dedicated channels 1 through 4 to chord pads only to keep it (somewhat) minimal.  For those slow bass staccato bend runs I ended up using a table to gate the volume rather than retrigger the instrument or use an LFO.  It could use a little more polish but in the interest of not overstressing about music I decided to upload early.

Thanks to everyone who has been listening to my tunes the past few weeks it is really inspiring me to make more music with this incredible device as well as reach a bit outside my comfort zone and try new stuff in the tracker.

really enjoyed this, it sounds groovy and it's a lot of fun!

Such a cool vibe. Jealous of your lead lines, as always smile

Drum and space. Love the leads smile

Absolutely love it. Great tune as always.

Cool track, sweet arrangement and contrasty music which keeps interest throughout.

That amen is some ninja shit, I thought I was having a cup of tea in space and BAM it's Gregory Coleman! In your face!

The meowing lead is a spectacular sound.

Love the way you vary the pace and bring in the different elements throughout the track. From the banging drums to the meows!

this is so good.  i love your video backdrop!

LOVE THIS

That first lead + the pads in the intro are incredibly warm and cozy and somehow spacey all at the same time.  Are those seriously from macrosynths running on the M8?  (AWWW YEAH THE AMENS JUST KICKED IN, I couldn't help but smile when they showed up.)  And the lead from ~2:20 on is pure liquid―I don't know how you do this, but I hope you keep it up.

Great!
Fresh chipbreak!

The "meowing" lead made its debut in week 4's track and it evolved a bit for this one.  Since some of you liked it I decided to try it out in Week 6 as well with some slight modifications.

Thanks all for listening to my tracks!

Glad you liked it!  The pads are the plucked synth from the macrosynth but instead of the chords strumming or arpeggiating in one channel it's just one note per channel simultaneously with some M8 reverb..

Love the variation this track has. Consistently super interesting.

Y2K vibes! awesome!!
