Needed a chill down from weeks of making frenetic beats.  This is the result.  Made on an M8 Tracker.  Chords pads are FMsynth in one channel using MOD commands to vary the chords and notes of the highest voice.   Piano is programmed on two channels from that 88-slice megasample floating around the M8 discord resources channel (thanks to LLTH).  Vocals are one shots, drums are samples.  Bass is triple triangle macrosynth.  Beat chopping, tape, juggling and scratching effects done with copious abuse of the the STA, PVX, THO, and PBN commands with stuttering done in tables.

I've been able to pick out DP tracks from the random WB playlist pretty reliably over the last few weeks based on how smoothly they mix together elements that should sound different but end up sounding natural.  My SO liked the vocal sample

Did not see that chill coming - great jam

The song that makes sweet love to you.

Super chill! I loved that chip arp at 1:35 and the glitchy slicing after that was dope. I've been meaning to experiment with some scratch samples. Awesome work!

thanks its good to know the combinations i am picking are working - its easy to lose perspective on your own sound choices and design sometimes.

Thank you!  I need to chill out that's why haha - its easy for me to layer and layer until maximalism is achieved in a frenzied way.   been trying to pare it down and leave some space for relaxation

Making scratching sounds is easy on the M8 - they weren't samples they were some PVX extreme vibrato commands applied to a resampled part of the track being chopped up with the STA command and having stutters applied via volume cutouts in a table.   It sounds complex but its real easy to do - hit me up on the dirtywave discord and I can share some screens and examples (also if you check out the bundle of my tune 1 Track Mind it happens a lot in there)

Thanks everyone for listening!

ah i just saw i repeated myself about the scratching technique - its been a wild few weeks haha.......

Wow! Love this!! heart So nice and chill and bouncy.

The rhythm here is addicting, especially with the piano melody highlighting the motions. Those chops at 1:50 and how they add a lot of complexity to the rhythm are really cool too.

This one's one of my all-time favorites of yours, I've bumped this A LOT but not commented, 'cuz this one defies being talked about. So Imma just say "congratulations, this rules," it's kinda perfect. I've been thinking of doing remixes and collabs for a while, and I would love to take a stab at remixing this, but I'm not sure what I'd want to do w/ this yet. (I do know I don't want to do a "slap a dumbass beat under it" type remix, though -- will need to think this through.)
